Catdoku
Every distant cat in the cat-themed logic game Catdoku requires a precise spot on the grid. Use X marks, deduction, and cautious elimination to meet numerous conditions without wasting fish.
A Cat Grid Puzzle to Work Your Brain
Catdoku is a logic problem that mixes the familiar with a delightful cat motif. Instead of filling a grid with numbers, you fill cells with a finite number of cats, according to four criteria that must be followed for each placement. Cats cannot be in the same row or column; there can only be one cat of each colour; and cats cannot be next to one another, even diagonally. When the full grid satisfies all of these conditions, and all the cats are in their places, the level is completed.
How the Catdoku Grid Functions
The playing area is a square grid cut up into coloured parts. The goal is not to fill up every cell. Instead, you need to look for the limited number of cells where the cats may travel while keeping the overall board constant.
Four Rules for All Placements
All four of the following conditions must be met by each cat, simultaneously:
- Not two cats in a row: One cat per row.
- One cat per column: No column may have 2 cats.
- Only one cat per colour: Each coloured part may include only one cat.
- No touching: Cats may not be next to or diagonal to another cat.
These principles will interact, such that a cell that seems conceivable at first may be made impossible by placing another cat someplace else.
X Marks Show the Vacant Cells
X markings are a big aspect of the Catdoku gaming strategy. Instead of trying to anticipate where a cat will go, you may indicate the squares where it can't go.
Catdoku borrows ideas from other grid-puzzles and converts them into a new cat-placement game. Every vacant cell has a purpose, thanks to the cats, the coloured regions, the X markings, and the no-touching rule. And the fact that you have a limited number of cats means you have to solve the board, not just fill it. Click Play Now and see if you can find the ideal home for each aloof cat!
