Chainle is a daily word-association puzzle where you identify one word that unites all the clues in each of five rounds. The challenge is played across three rounds. The first two rounds feature two hints, the third three, and the last one.
A simple online game combining language, lateral thinking, and semantic reasoning. You may get 5,000 points each day, 1,000 points per round. Invalid inputs don't count as your turn, so you may think about it as long as you like until you submit a valid phrase.
Five Rounds with Word Clues
The clue arrangement changes each round; therefore, you must think differently rather than use the same strategy.
Rounds 1-3: Link Two Clues With A Word
Each of the first three rounds offers 2 clues. Find the phrase that meaningfully connects the two ideas.
Such as this one:
- Clue 1: Transportation
- Clue 2: Pizza
- Connecting word: Delivery
Your answer must connect both suggestions. One that's more about transportation than pizza will score worse.
Round 4: Connect Three Clues
Round 4 is harder with three clues. One phrase must be reasonably connected to all three.
For example:
- Clue 1: Summer
- Hint 2: Structure
- Clue 3: Companion
- Connecting word: University
It forces you to think outside of the links and to find words that have several meanings or uses.
Round 5: Link One Clue Dutifully
Final round format changes again. Instead of several recommendations, you should choose a word that is closely similar to one.
So if the clue was 'plane', you may type 'aircraft', for example. It does not have to be a perfect word-for-word match. Other terms related to the notion may also be valid, depending on how strongly they are connected.
Daily Results and Exercises
There are 5 rounds, each worth up to 1000 points; thus, the highest potential score is 5000. Your score is determined by how strong the connections are for the word you provide, not just if the answer is accepted.
The game also offers several methods to play:
- Daily Challenge: A new batch of five puzzle rounds refreshes at 00:00 UTC.
- Chainle Unlimited: Play sets of five practice rounds in shuffle mode without daily limits. Puzzles may recur. Practice scores don't affect the daily leaderboard.
- Puzzle Archive: Play puzzles from past dates. Your work stays in the current browser and won’t instantly move to other devices.
