Think beyond common trivia solutions that score easily. The Seldom game pushes you to think outside the box by having you come up with reasonable solutions that hardly anyone else would choose.

Seldom: Daily Trivia Contest for Rare Answers

Seldom is a daily trivia and word-thinking game with a unique scoring system: the rarer your accurate answer, the better. Each day, participants are asked the same question and get five opportunities to predict responses that are unlikely to be on the tip of most players' tongues. Each estimate is scored from 0 to 100 depending on how apparent the answer is, to keep the total score as low as possible. When all five responses earn a score of zero, a perfect score of 0/500 is obtained.

Stacked Up Question Of The Day

Unlike other online trivia games, there's no cash prize here; you lose points if you provide the most popular answers.

Five Guesses, One Question in Common

These puzzles include five guesses for each of their solutions. For example, "Name a fruit" might have several possible correct answers, each scoring differently according to how likely people would be to think of it.

Some instances of scoring include:

  • Apple: 95 points.
  • Mango: 48 points.
  • Kiwi: 32 points.
  • Lychee: 5 points.
  • Rambutan: 0 points.

You add up the 5 points for a score out of 500. This is the opposite of Scrooge McDuck's philosophy: uncommon solutions are worth more than common ones, thus a smaller total is desirable.

Knowing Seldom Scores and Misses

The 0 scores are a specific case. It means your response is correct yet surprising, such that most people would not think of it for that question. Get a Seldom.

Invalid answers do not add to your score, but they will display as a miss on your results screen, as well as on performance shared. Misses do not apply to typographical errors, responses that are part of an acceptable answer, or duplicate guesses.

The Seldom game transforms conventional trivia into a hunt for unusual yet accurate answers. It requires you to think outside the box for each daily problem, with a five-guess limit, a rarity-based score system, and optional tips. See how uncommon you can become at Play Now!
