Word Ferret, an addictive online word game, tests vocabulary, speed, and inventiveness. Simply find as many words as possible in a given time. All words get points, but longer ones score greater, combining strategy, quick thinking, and wordplay.

How to play Word Ferret

Choose a room with its unique rules and grid layout to start the game Word Ferret.

• The Green Room is a 5x5 grid with four-letter terms and three-minute rounds.
• Gold Room, the 6x6 grid, players must find words with five letters or more. Unique Mode awards points for finding words no one else has found.

Rounds are continuous with 30-second breaks. In Non-Unique Mode, the scoreboard changes every 30 seconds. In Unique Mode, it updates instantly when duplicate words are identified.

Players join letters horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to construct words. Each letter is limited to one per word. People can enter words in many ways.
